Welcome to the Wiltshire Law Centre website. We currently provide free and confidential legal advice and representation in Welfare Benefits, Housing Law, Employment and Debt. If you need advice in any of these areas we can help subject to current eligibility. We operate in the same way as any solicitors firm in the high street, in that we employ advisors to provide high quality professional legal services. However, our expertise lies with solving everyday problems, which come under the general heading of ‘social welfare law’. We currently employ 5 specialist advisors with over 50 years experience between them:
Richard Hazell – Senior Solicitor
Richard is one of the original founding members of Wiltshire Law Centre. He set up the law centre 37 years ago and specialises in Housing Law. In November 2017, Richard was awarded the President’s Outstanding Achievement Award by Gloucester and Wiltshire’s Law Society.

We are a registered charity and a company limited by guarantee. We are also a not-for-profit agency, which means that all our money is reinvested in the Law Centre for the benefit of our clients.
We have proven success in helping people in the areas of law we cover. For example we help claim benefits they did not realise they were entitled to, we assist people facing eviction and we help people struggling to cope with personal debt.
We are also a member of the Law Centres Network.
If you need advice in any other areas of law we can usually signpost you to other agencies and solicitors who provide free advice depending on the nature of the problem and your personal circumstances.
